Clutch 5
Clutch 1
The transmission receives power from the crankshaft and the output shaft located on the outside of the transmission housing (left) will transmit power to the differential.
With these Clutches engaged 1st gear is achieved

Torque Converter
The torque converter assists in the smooth transistion of shifting during high RPMs and low RPMs. Before this addition hard knocking and grinding of gears were heard. Fluid flows inside a group of impeller blades. The fluid drag eases the increase/decrease in RPMs

Clutch Packs
The clutch packs engage or lock together to make various shafts and connections join together. Coupled with the clutch packs are different sets of gears that rotate. The gears are different sizes and can produce a different power output giving you variations of torque and speed.

Differential
A front wheel differential take the pwoer output from the transmission and transmit's it to the wheels. At the same time it can adjust either wheel to speed up or slow down going around turns. The outside wheel on the turn will turn faster than the inside wheel.
With these Clutches engaged 6th gear is achieved
